My Veggie Kitchen

Pesto, Artichoke, Prosciutto and Asiago Panini

Yesterday, I made pesto pasta. The pesto was made from fresh basil leaves, of course, and we ate it all before I could take a photo. So now I'm on the hunt for images of food using pesto. And this one is quite beautiful~

Happy Sunday!! Breakfast ... Filipino Style :-)

Photo note:

"I know I've taken several of this type of "breakfast" shots before but what can I say when I'm so addicted to taking food pictures. As I was getting my glass of juice to put on the table, the hubs said "hurry up, go get the camera" . . . I know he was being a smart a$$ about it. :-) Anyhoo, this was today's breakfast . . . your typical Filipino Style breakfast with longinisa (Filipino sweet sausages), eggs, fried garlic rice and I always have some sort of veggie . . . sliced cucumbers & tomatoes in seasoned vinegar and olive oil. We have this about once a month . . . not even. There are times we even have this for dinner . . . ;-)"

DOMINICAN BREAKFAST

DOMINICAN BREAKFAST, originally uploaded by ::: Luca Brasi :::.

This photographer tells us:

"One of the things that I liked when I was in New York was the great gastronomical diversity, I believe that I must have eaten at least food of 10 different countries. In this case one is the famous Dominican Breakfast that includes mangu (cooked green banana , onion, fried eggs, fried cheese and sausage, also fried. Aside from this humble dish, this came accompanied with coffee and milk, Tropicana orange juice (the best one that I have tasted) and toasted bread....No apt for dietetic. All this food was sufficient until the supper.
Note: I had this kind of breakfast only on sundays.
Price: 7,00 usd.
Place: Restaurant "El Coral" (Broadway at West 158th St. Manhattan, New York City, NY)
Subway: 1 at 157th St. Station
I recommend it."

Sunday morning breakfast

Ooh! As a friend of mine often says, "I'll eat that!"

Photo note:

"Plain and wholesome idli - made with rice & lentils, served with chutney (coconut, chillies, coriander) & sambar (lentils, spices, tomatoes, curry leaves & vegetables). It tastes best served in banana leaves but I make do with leaf design dishes."

Now, this is a truly beautiful Sunday breakfast pic.

Photo note:

"I woke up today at 5am because of some kids upstairs. They started running around their apartment yelling, screaming and crying. It's Sunday for Chrissakes! So, obviously I needed pancakes to cheer myself up."

This woulda worked for me!
