Woo! Where have I been all these years? Fabulous!
cook 1 1/2 cup quinoa and 1/2 cup pink lentil in your rice cooker
use some thick tomato sauce in a pan, add a tsp of agar-agar (or kanten), boil for two minutes. Add oignon, garlic, spices to your taste if you want.
mix the lentil, quinoa and tomato sauce and put in glasses or silicon cup. Place in the fridge for a couple of hours till cold and solidified.
I ate it cold with a thick dressing of balsamic vinegar, walnut oil and garlic. yum.
Quinoa before flowering.
Quinoa (pronounced /ˈkinwɑ/ KEEN-wah or /ˈkinoʊə/ KEE-no-uh, Spanish quinua, from Quechua kinwa) is a species of goosefoot (Chenopodium) grown as a crop primarily for its edible seeds. It is a pseudocereal rather than a true cereal as it is not a grass. Its leaves are also eaten as a leaf vegetable, much like amaranth, but the commercial availability of quinoa greens is currently limited.
The beauty of this simple seed is that it plays well with so many other tasty additions~
Quinoa (play /ˈkiːnwɑː/ or /kɨˈnoʊ.ə/, Spanish: quinua, from Quechua: kinwa), a species of goosefoot (Chenopodium), is a grain-like crop grown primarily for its edible seeds. It is a pseudocereal rather than a true cereal, or grain, as it is not a member of the grass family. As a chenopod, quinoa is closely related to species such as beets, spinach, and tumbleweeds.

These are great!
I wish these weren't so sloppy, I'm trying Callye's technique of a stiffer icing rather than an outline and fill.
(that and I was conserving pastry bags, my supplier didn't ship my order and I ran out of small bags!!)
I love the color in this photo. Nice job~ Table spread with 4th of July offerings: cake with strawberries and blueberries, real lemonade, watermelon, salad, on a red and white checkered tablecloth with blue plates and cups. Perfect~
I couldn't resist. What a riot! I haven't had a twinkie in, well, forever!
4th of July dessert -- Twinkle Trifle, Twinkies, blueberries, strawberries, pudding, and whipped cream on top.
